TOTD: 2015 Mercedes GLA45 AMG vs. CLA45 -- Which Would you Pick?

The Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG didn't have much time to itself in the small AMG spotlight before the 2015 GLA45 AMG arrived on the scene. Now, with two pint-sized, turbo-four-powered, all-wheel-drive Silver Arrows to choose from, we wonder which will be the more popular model. Pricing has yet to be announced on the GLA45, but we want to know which one you'd pick based on all other factors.

© Provided by MotorTrend Both vehicles are powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter I-4 boosted to a whopping 355 hp and 332 lb-ft of torque. Both cars also receive a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and an AMG-tuned version of Mercedes' transverse 4MATIC all-wheel drive system, which can send as much as 50 percent torque to the rear wheels. Where the two AMGs differ most, obviously, is body style. Mercedes calls the GLA a CUV, though it could pass for an enlarged hatchback. The GLA45 rides on standard 19-inch alloy wheels (20-inchers are available), which fill up the wheel wells nicely but don't appear to offer much in the way of ground clearance. The GLA45's liftgate and slightly larger size might give it the cargo space advantage over the CLA and its trunk, but other than that the crossover doesn't seem to provide much more utility. Mercedes estimates the GLA45 will hit 60 mph from a standstill in 4.8 seconds. In our tests, the CLA45 did 0-60 mph in 4.2 seconds, 0.3 seconds faster than its manufacturer-estimated time.

We still need to drive the GLA45 to see how much it differs from its sedan sibling, but for now we want to know which one you would pick. Tell us in the comments below.
