Updating an icon can be a daunting task. The automaker has to balance a vehicle’s heritage while bringing it into the modern age. Now that the redesigned 2016 Chevrolet Camaro has been officially revealed, we want to know if you think General Motors made the right improvements to its muscle car.

Now based on the Alpha platform, the new 2016 Chevrolet Camaro rides on a shorter wheelbase (110.7 inches vs. 112.3 inches) and has a shorter overall length (188.3 inches vs. 190.6 inches) compared to the current car. Those smaller dimensions along with the new aluminum intensive chassis is said to reduce weight by more than 200 pounds. However, the new car does give up some rear seat space.

In addition to more power from the revised 3.6-liter V-6 (330 hp and 285 lb-ft vs. 323 hp and 278 lb-ft) and new 6.2-liter LT1 V-8 (440 hp and 450 lb-ft vs. (426 hp and 420 lb-ft), GM also added a new base engine: a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder rated 270 hp and 290 lb-ft. The six-speed manual gains active-rev matching, while an eight-speed automatic with paddle shifters replaces the current six-speed auto.
