Slotting between the McLaren 12C and P1 hybrid supercar, the recently revealed 2015 McLaren 650S brings the British Formula 1 team’s street car count up to three. McLaren is targeting the Ferrari 458 Speciale with the new 650S that stems from the 12C. With the standard 458 Italia and La Ferrari in the Italian automaker’s stable, we want to know which automaker makes the best street cars.

While the new McLaren 650S has yet to be driven, NineInchNails asked other Motor Trend forum members to rate the three McLaren street cars against three mid-engine Ferrari models based on their specifications and styling. NineInchNails theoretical match up put the McLaren 12C against the Ferrari 458, the 650S against the 458 Speciale, and the P1 against the LaFerrari. He also suggests comparing the Lamborghini Huracan, Aventador, and Veneno, respectively.

Hangarchief said “it will ALWAYS be Ferrari...” with McLaren rated second and that Lamborghini looks “too much like a kit car.”NeedBailMoney voted for “McLaren across the board.” And SickSeries GT thought the McLaren models would be faster than the respective Ferrari models around the track, but thought Ferrari would be better all around. He also thought “Lambos are a joke.”

Of the three automakers, which company do you think builds the better street car? Or does it depend based off the respective category? Share your thoughts below.
