With summer fast approaching, many of you are undoubtedly planning (or dreaming of) lots of top-down motoring. That said, we decided to list what we consider the top 15 convertibles of all time, picking 10 classics and five current models to mix it up a bit.

The Jaguar E-Type roadster was an easy pick and is considered one of the most coveted cars made by the British automaker. The Austin-Healey Sprite Mark I was another British convertible to make the list, while the stately 1959 Cadillac Eldorado epitomizes the garishness of 1950s American car design. 1959 Cadillac Eldorado© Provided by MotorTrend 1959 Cadillac Eldorado

Choosing modern cars was less difficult and including the Mazda MX-5 Miata was a no-brainer thanks to its tried and true formula of value and engaging driving characteristics. Those willing to pay more will find near perfection in the Porsche Boxster S, while the Wrangler is definitely the list’s outlier being the only off-roader on the list. Which convertible would you pick? Or do you have another top-down car in mind? Either way, let us know in the comments below.
