The crossover coupe niche is a tough sell. While the premium BMW X6 has seen success, the more affordable Acura ZDX was short-lived. With the success of the X6, the German automaker has just introduced the 2015 BMW X4, which stems from the more conventional X3 crossover. We want to know if you think the stylish X4 is worth the premium -- and reduced interior volume -- over the X3.

While crossover coupes lose rear seat and cargo space compared to their conventional counterparts, the X4 loses less than the X6 when you compare them to their traditional-roof counterparts X3 and X5, respectively -- or the ZDX versus the Acura MDX. The X4 loses just 5 percent rear seat passenger space, but 36 percent cargo space behind the second row (17.7 cubic feet) and 22 percent behind the first row with the second row folded flat (49.4 cubic feet).

How much does that swooping roof (and tighter interior) cost? The BMW X4 xDrive28i starts at $45,625 or $3400 more than an X3 xDrive28i ($41,325). While the X4 is only available with all-wheel drive, a rear-drive X3 sDrive28i starts at $39,325.

Is the 2015 BMW X4 crossover coupe’s styling worth the premium over the more practical X3? Share your thoughts on today’s Thread of the Day below.
