Among the debuts at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, McLaren is showing a track-focused version of the new 650S Coupe. Dubbed the McLaren 650S Sprint, it will feature a stripped-out interior as well as enhanced aerodynamics, and revised performance bits.

In order to reduce weight, the 650S Sprint features a stripped-out interior. Safety features include an FIA-approved rollcage, a lightweight carbon fiber HANS-approved race seat with six-point harness, and an integrated fire extinguisher system. Despite the track-focused bits, the 650S Sprint features air conditioning.

Outside, the McLaren 650S Sprint take cues from the previously announced 650S GT3 race car including a larger fuel cell with quick-fill connectors, a larger front radiator and GT3-inspired heat extractor hood vents and fender vents that are said to enhance aerodynamics. The exterior features the inverted livery from the 650S GT3 race car with white and Tarocco Orange paint and contrasting black and white details.

Updates include a revised Brake Steer system, refined active aerodynamics, and a race setup for the ProActive Chassis Control (PCC). The changes are said to deliver a more engaging track experience without giving up any of the road car’s refinement or balance. Additionally, the McLaren 650S Sprint gets revised air intakes for improved cooling and a track-focused engine and transmission calibration.

Other performance changes include a lowered suspension with recalibrated adaptive damping and revised spring rates, and a set of 19-inch center-locking racing wheels wrapped in Pirelli tires. Tire changes are made easier via an onboard jack system. The braking system has also been upgraded for improved feel and late braking capabilities.

Available features include a CFD (computational fluid dynamics) developed aerodynamic package that includes a carbon fiber rear wing and front splitter as well as a passenger seat with six-point harness and a lightweight polycarbonate windshield.

Pricing for the McLaren 650S Sprint will start at about $265,000.
