After a decade’s absence from motorsports, Bentley recently returned with the Continental GT3 racer. Now, a production version of the Bentley Continental GT3 is slated to debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this month, according to Autocar. The production model is intended to tie the automaker’s race and road programs together even closer than before.

While the Continental GT3 racer was initially intended to be based on the Continental GT Speed (and it’s twin-turbo W-12), it eventually received a high-performance version of the automaker’s 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 to help reduce weight. The 4.0-liter could produce as much as 700 hp in the street car, according to the report.

Like the racer, the production model will also ditch its all-wheel-drive system for a lighter rear-drive setup as well as make use of extensive carbon fiber bodywork. While the production Bentley Continental GT3 is expected to be significantly lighter than the 5000-pound plus Continental GT V8, it probably won’t be as light as the racer, which weighs approximately 2200-pound less than the current production car.

Expect the Bentley Continental GT3 street car to feature functional aerodynamic upgrades including a large fixed rear wing. The production Bentley Continental GT3 is reportedly a limited edition model with about 30 units heading to the U.K. No word on how many will be available in the U.S.
