Most Dependable Cars on the Road 2017

AutoNXT Logo By Perry Stern of AutoNXT | Slide 1 of 22: Research firm J.D. Power and Associates has been producing its annual U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study for the past 28 years. The 2017 study examines problems experienced in the last 12 months by original owners of 2014 model-year vehicles, with overall dependability determined by the number of problems experienced per 100 vehicles (PP100). A lower score indicates higher dependability. It is interesting to note that the average among the 10 top-selling 2014 models is just 134 PP100 — considerably better than the industry average of 156 PP100. The 2017 U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study is based on responses from more than 35,000 original owners of 2014 model-year vehicles after three years of ownership. The study was conducted from October through December 2016.
