Kansas City Observes WWI Centennial

The National World War I Museum and Memorial in Kansas City is observing the centennial of the day that the U.S. begrudgingly decided to enter the war. 3,000 visitors purchased tickets to participate in the daylong event titled "In Sacrifice for Liberty and Peace." The day began with music and a video sharing the story of one soldier. By the time the conflict ended in 1918, more than 9 million people were lost in combat, including 116,000 Americans.
