Broadway legend Andrew Lloyd Webber mourns son following 18-month battle with gastric cancer, more stars who've lost children in recent years

He was 43. "I am shattered to have to announce that my beloved elder son Nick died a few hours ago in Basingstoke Hospital [in England]. His whole family is gathered together and we are all totally bereft. Thank you for all your thoughts during this difficult time," the "Cats" and "The Phantom of the Opera" musician wrote in a statement released to multiple media outlets.Andrew revealed on Instagram two days earlier that Nick -- his son with first wife Sarah Hugill -- had been transferred to hospice care after catching pneumonia amid his 18-month battle with stomach cancer.
