Machine Gun Kelly has had to drop out of his upcoming role in movie Wash Me In The River.

The boyfriend of Megan Fox - real name Colson Baker - is being replaced by Friday Night Lights actor Taylor Kitsch after scheduling conflicts forced him to quit the project, Deadline reports.

The film is being directed by Randall Emmett and also stars Robert De Niro and John Malkovich, with filming beginning next month in Georgia and Puerto Rico.

Kitsch will play a recovering addict 'who goes Man on Fire toward every drug dealer he thinks might have played a role in his fiance's death. Two cops are hot on his trail.'

The script is by Adam Taylor Barker and Chris Sivertson did a rewrite.

Kitsch is best known for playing high-school bad boy Tim Riggins for five seasons in the acclaimed, Emmy-winning NBC drama Friday Night Lights.

Emmett just completed shooting on his directorial debut, Midnight in the Switchgrass, which was forced to pause earlier this year due to the coronavirus.

Meanwhile, Megan's estranged husband Brian Austin Green, who she shares three children with, is said to be 'totally fine' with the actress getting serious with MGK after their relationship went public over the summer.

A source told Us Weekly magazine: 'Brian is totally fine about them getting more serious. He is doing his own thing and there's no animosity. He is pleased that Megan is preoccupied and happy.

'He is socially dating and seeing different girls. He's not on that same page of being in a serious relationship right now, but he's totally cool with MGK, no question about it.'

It was previously claimed that Brian 'doesn't care' that Megan has been flaunting her relationship with her new beau all over social media.

An insider said: 'Brian isn't devastated by their split anymore, as they have been through break-ups and splits a few times now.

'He doesn't care that Megan and Machine Gun Kelly have been flaunting their relationship publicly and is trying to focus on his own life and obviously dating a few girls in public himself. He's not taking it personally.

'Megan cut the chord with Brian and was just over it. It had to do with her meeting Machine Gun Kelly, but both of them know it was finally time to call it off. Brian is happy and is enjoying not having to deal with constant drama.'
