MSNBC is rolling out the ads for its new Friday night "Up Late with Alec Baldwin," and, in true Alec Baldwin style, it's not pulling its punches.

"Ed Show's" Ed Schultz hosts the ad, saying that, in response to criticism, "MSNBC has turned to a man to restore balance to an unbalance network. A man who will address the great issues of our time while keeping his emotions in check. Above all, a man who values reason over passion and provides a soothing voice for these troubled times."

"That's right. It's me!" Baldwin says, throwing an arm around Schultz that may have just punched a paparazzi in the face, allegedly.

Aside from his acting, Baldwin is, of course, known for his left-leaning politics and his temper, usually expressed through homophobic Twitter account tirades and physical encounters with photographers on New York City Streets.

"Up Late" premieres Oct. 11 at 10 p.m.
