Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss buys Mel Gibson's Malibu estate

6/13/2014

The Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss has purchased Mel Gibson's sprawling Malibu, California compound. The executive producer of ABC's hit dating show has purchased the Braveheart actor's home for $9.3 million, according to the Los Angeles Times. Fleiss is not moving far from his previous home, as he put his other Malibu residence on the market in July (12), just one month before he hosted a star-studded Bachelor wedding for two of the show's producers. The property includes six bedrooms, five and a half bathrooms, three guesthouses, a gym, tennis court, swimming pool, spa, and two-story entertainment pavilion. Gibson and his ex-wife Robyn Moore Gibson first listed the address in 2010 for $14.5 million, but Fleiss paid 35 per cent less than the original asking price. The Gibsons ended their 31-year marriage in 2011, and originally purchased the property from singer Rick Springfield and his wife in 1989 for about $3 million.
