Cheryl Burke on Dancing with the Stars group number: 'It was a hot mess'

6/13/2014

Dancing With The Stars pro Cheryl Burke has come clean with her thoughts on Tuesday's (23Oct12) group dance number, branding it a "hot mess." For the first time the group dance was freestyle, so when it came to choreographing a routine to Psy's hit song Gangnam Style, all bets were off. Led by Gilles Marini and Peta Murgatroyd, their fellow team members, Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke, Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy, and Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, played to their strengths of entertaining over technique. Judge Len Goodman even said, "It wasn't tight, it wasn't together, but it was the craziest thing I've ever seen. It was fun!" And when Burke talked to E! News following the show, she admitted that Goodman was right in his judgement, as it was a frenzy putting the entire routine together. She divulged, "I'm telling you, it was a real hot mess. All through dress rehearsal and all day yesterday, I was thinking 'Whatever, as long as we put a smile on people's faces...' We were still making changes until 10 minutes before."
