Jessica Simpson sheds pregnancy weight to prepare for Fashion Star

6/12/2014

New mom Jessica Simpson has spent the past few months diligently working on shedding the baby weight she gained when she was pregnant in order to gear up for the new season of Fashion Star. The 32 year old gave birth to her first child, Maxwell Drew, in May (12), and since then, Simpson has partnered with WeightWatchers to lose the nearly 40-plus pounds she gained during her pregnancy. On Monday (10Sep12), Simpson finally showed off her new look on newswoman Katie Couric's new daytime talk show, telling her that it wasn't easy to get rid of all the extra pounds. She revealed, "I set small goals for myself. I've lost weight every week, thank God, but I've worked really hard. I have to shoot a new season of Fashion Star." The reality show judge has always been a target in the media because of her fluctuating weight, but she insists she isn't one to take to heart what the press is saying. Simpson admitted, "I definitely don't pick up the magazines. I definitely don't Google my name. I try to avoid it completely. But I subconsciously know the talk is going on." And she credits all her weightloss success to WeightWatchers, insisting their healthy plan has given her a new lifestyle. She adds, "WeightWatchers is not intimidating. It's not a diet. It's a lifestyle."
