Kanye designed Kim's 'flawless' ring to look like it was 'floating on air'

Kanye West considers himself a creative genius, so it's no surprise that he approached the design of newly minted fiancé Kim Kardashian's 15-carat engagement ring with the same hyper-attention to detail he brings to, say, leather jogging pants. "Kanye was involved in every single way. He had a vision from the beginning," a rep for jeweler-to-the-stars Lorraine Schwartz explains to E! News. "He looked at a lot of stones, and he wanted only the best."And to get the best, Yeezy was seemingly his usual high-maintenance self. "He and Lorraine emailed back and forth and stayed up nights discussing how he wanted it to be," continues the rep. "He wanted the diamond to look like it was floating on air. Everything was his idea from beginning to end."The knuckle-crushing, cushion-cut rock is billed as "perfect," "flawless" and "the best diamond there is."The sparkler is so big and blinding that it's a wonder Kim could even see the 50-piece orchestra Kanye hired for his over-the-top proposal on Monday night at AT&T Park in San Francisco, or the Jumbotron message imploring her, "PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!"She couldn't wait to say yes."Last night was truly magical!!! I am the luckiest girl in the world!" she gushes to E!. "I get to marry my best friend!"According to Us, the rapper "personally" issued invitations to 50 or so people in recent days but swore them to secrecy. The guest list included about 20 of Kim's nearest and dearest, several of Kanye's Chicago pals and a handful of Silicon Valley billionaires. Most apparently thought they were just attending a blowout celebration for Kim's 33rd birthday."Nobody was told he'd be proposing in advance," says an insider, not even Kim's sisters, Khloe and Kourtney.Kardashian was blindfolded as she arrived at the stadium with West (their 3-month-old daughter, North, was reportedly with them in the Bay Area but did not attend the question-popping extravaganza).Read on to find out what happened next ...
