After cracking people up with her myriad of characters for the late-night audience of "Saturday Night Live" and appearing in the hilarious hit "Bridesmaids," Maya Rudolph is now ready for primetime!

The 41-year-old actress will return to NBC with a new variety series project produced by her former "SNL" boss Lorne Michaels, according to Deadline.

The network has ordered a pilot for the variety series -- to be executive produced by Rudolph -- that would air as a special after the Winter Olympics, the website reports.

The new series comes after NBC canceled Rudolph's comedy series "Up All Night," which co-starred Christina Applegate and Will Arnett.
