Morrissey turned down The Killers

6/13/2014

British rocker Morrissey turned down the chance to perform with The Killers because he is "just not the type". The Mr. Brightside hitmakers have long cited the former The Smiths frontman as one of their biggest influences and they recently invited him to play with them at a show in New York. However, Morrissey is adamant he didn't want to step onstage with the band. He tells Australia's Herald Sun, "I find it difficult to be anything other than honest, and this makes me sound like an old crank. I can't say 'Yes' when I mean 'No' - my jaw literally locks... The Killers asked me to sing with them this month in New York, but I'm just not the type. I stick to my own backyard."
