Oh, Pretty Woman songwriter Bill Dees dies aged 73

Singer/composer Bill Dees has died aged 73. Dees passed away on 24 October (12) in Mountain Home, Arkansas from unknown causes after being diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour last summer (11). He was best known for his smash hit Oh, Pretty Woman, a collaboration with singer Roy Orbison, which featured in and inspired the title for Julia Roberts' 1990 movie Pretty Woman. A Texas native, Dees is credited with writing scores of songs for high-profile performers including Johnny Cash, Loretta Lynn, and Glen Campbell. A memorial service is scheduled to take place on Saturday (03Nov12) in Mountain Home.
