Eliminated Dancing With The Stars contestant Emmitt Smith regrets not getting the chance to compete in the finals for his kids. The NFL legend was sent home during the semi-finals results show on Tuesday (20Nov12), just one week shy of making the final three for next week's (26Nov12) big finale. And although the charismatic season three champion is proud he fought his hardest to reclaim the mirrorball trophy, he doesn't regret a single step. The only thing he is dismayed about is his children won't get the chance to fly out from Texas to cheer dad on - something they were all looking forward to. He tells entertainment site Zap2it.com, "I'm extremely disappointed, but this is a life learning lesson for them, too. They need to understand that all things may not go your way - but just because they don't go your way, it's not the end of all things. Let's just be glad we had this moment to share together and, at the end of the day, let's just get up tomorrow and make it a better day." With the immense amount of talent in the field for the all-stars season, Smith is happy with his performance throughout the past few months. He explains, "How much more could I have done? I think we pushed the limits... Obviously, right now, it just wasn't good enough. It's no reflection on (partner) Cheryl (Burke). For me, I only have so much I can give." Next week's final will be an all-girl affair with Kelly Monaco, Shawn Johnson and Melissa Rycroft competing for the mirrorball trophy.
