The much-maligned Broadway musical "Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark" is itself going dark in January, the Wall Street Journal reports.

The show will stay around long enough for a last holiday-season ticket run before shuttering after a two-and-a-half-year run, the paper reported Monday. Citing people close to the matter, the WSJ said "Spider-Man" had been running at the break-even point for some time.

Messages sent by TheWrap to the show's publicity firm was not immediately returned.
