'The Bridge' EP Meredith Stiehm Returning to 'Homeland'

Meredith Stiehm is returning to her "Homeland" — but she'll still be hanging around "The Bridge."

Stiehm, who serves as executive producer for the FX series "The Bridge," is heading back to the Showtime drama "Homeland." where she served as executive producer until last year.

Stiehm, who's returning to "Homeland" as an executive producer for seasons four and five of the Claire Danes-starring espionage drama, also co-wrote tthe upcoming season finale of the Showtime offering, due to air Dec. 15, with Alex Gansa.

Stiehm will continue as an executive producer on "The Bridge."

"We're thrilled to welcome Meredith back, as she's been an integral part of 'Homeland' from the beginning," Fox 21 president Bert Salke said of the move. "She's a fantastic writer and this deal returns her to this hugely valuable asset as well as allows us to develop with her down the road."

Stiehm, who also created the CBS police procedural "Cold Case," developed "The Bridge" with novelist Elwood Reid from the international series "Bron."

"The Bridge," starring Demian Bichir and  Diane Kruger, has been renewed for a second season, which premieres summer 2014. Stiehm is writing the season 2 premiere with Reid.
