Emma Watson explains why she's a Brown bookworm, not a barflyThe "Harry Potter" franchise has taken up much of Emma Watson's life for the past 15 years -- and she's only 23. So it's no wonder that the brainy, Brown University student is excited to get back to school this fall. In a new interview with Rookie Magazine, she explained that Brown works for her because it has "a very open curriculum" that allows students to pursue what interests them, rather than what the school mandates -- which she says draws students who are as independent about learning as she is."Really, I've kind of been in charge of my own education since I started out on 'Potter' when I was 9 or 10, and I liked that I could design my own major if I wanted to, and I could take independent studies if I wanted to on subjects that weren't necessarily in the curriculum," she says, citing an independent study on "why we fall in love" as particularly "awesome."Not surprisingly, a young woman who's that driven about education isn't really into partying, despite her Hollywood-rendered club access. The "Bling Ring" star says that when people applaud her for avoiding boozy nights and, by extension, compromising tabloid pics,"I appreciate that, but I'm kind of an introverted kind of person just by nature, it's not like a conscious choice that I'm making necessarily. It's genuinely who I am."
