FarmStead Evenings at Siren

What: Siren by chef Robert Wiedmaier, newly crowned with a Michelin star, will throw the next installment of its new dinner series that spotlights its regional and sustainable relationships with agriculture and gastronomic partners.

Details: The star of the show is the family-run agribusiness Element Shrub, which produces herbal elixirs while preserving fruit for cooking and consuming. The five-course prix fixe menu is offered for $110 per person with beverage pairings, exclusive of tax and gratuity. 1515 Rhode Island Avenue NW

Sierra Nevada Fire Relief Fundraiser

What: The newly opened Guinness Open Gate Brewery and Barrel House is supporting Sierra Nedava’s Camp Fire relief fundraiser by brewing and selling a collaboration brew called Resilience Butte County Proud IPA.

Details: All sales of the beer on tap will be donated to Sierra Nevada’s effort towards helping those devastated by the recent California wildfires. 5001 Washington Blvd, Halethorpe, Maryland

What: Homegrown electronica duo Thievery Corporation is playing at the 9:30 Club for two nights, and its official afterparty is nearby at Gaslight Tavern. The kitchen, which just switched up its menu to focus on burgers, will be open extra late to celebrate.

Details: The afterparty will also feature a quartet of themed cocktails ($12), including “The Time We Lost Our Way” (Dickle Rye, Campari and sweet vermouth). The connection between the Shaw restaurant and the Grammy-winning DJs? Thievery Corporation co-founder Eric Hilton and his brother Ian own Gaslight. 2012 9th Street NW

Meet the Makers at Buttercream Bakeshop

What: Sugar pros Tiffany MacIsaac and her partner Alex Mudry-Till will host a book release party for award-winning author and journalist Cathy Barrow’s new Pie Squared, Irresistibly Easy Sweet & Savory Slab Pie.

Second Annual “Light Up The Season” Charity Event

What: The family friendly fundraiser at the Four Seasons will link up top area designers with Children’s National patients to create festive holiday trees, mantelpieces, wreaths, menorahs, and artwork. Proceeds will go towards the hospital.

Details: Activities include cookie decorating, ornament making, cameos by Santa and Children’s National Dr. Bear mascot, musical performances, pop-up shops, a silent auction and local fare and libations. 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. 2800 Pennsylvania Avenue NW

Mezcal Under the Mistletoe

What: Shaw’s The Royal is hosting a holiday-themed fete, asking guests to don their ugliest Christmas sweater while downing El Silencio Mezcal. Bar manager Jake Kenny and chef Cable Smith will help whip up three courses, three cocktails, and welcome amuse bouche. Think: a warm coconut and mezcal-spiked Toddy with a pork belly “pastrami.”

Details: The $60 all-inclusive ticket also includes holiday gift bags and a sensory Silencio tasting station. Also expect Polaroid photo ops, games, and holiday movies on the projector. 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. 501 Florida Avenue NW
