Do you know how to make perfect hard boiled eggs? This simple method has worked great for us! There's a secret ingredient that makes these eggs so easy to peel. Eggs are important to a frugal kitchen since they're a less-expensive protein. We even make egg recipes for dinner.
These hard boiled eggs are mostly used for my kids to independent at breakfast time, plus they make a good high-protein snack! And since we keep a bowl of them in the fridge each week, my husband often makes egg salad for his lunch.

I was looking for a solution to a very common problem that was causing us a lot of trouble in the mornings–hard boiled eggs that wouldn't peel easily.
The shell would break into too many pieces, or the egg would come off with the shell. Since my kids often eat an egg along with their toast or waffles in the morning, this was happening too often!

In the video, not only does Tim share the recipe for making perfect hard boiled eggs, he also demonstrates a fun way to peel them–by blowing the egg right out of the shell.
We have tried time and time again and have not been able to do that a single time successfully. But we have been using the recipe ever since, and it is so helpful!
There are so many methods out there for boiling eggs, but this one has been successful for us for quite a while now! I use a regular-sized saucepan and add 6-8 eggs for each batch.
What to do with hard boiled eggs
Besides a quick breakfast, we also use them as extra protein in packed swim meet meals or chopped on top of lunch or dinner salads. There are so many boiled egg recipes for dinner that you can try.
You can also make everyone's party favorite, deviled eggs. We always bring deviled eggs to our monthly game nights, and they disappear quickly! They're such an easy party food, so we love to bring them to potlucks and picnics in a handy egg container.
