'Teen Queen' uses spotlight to advocate for disabled people

When 17-year-old Lillian Elmore was recently crowned National Miss Amazing Teen Queen, she decided to use her platform to bring awareness to people with disabilities. Elmore has dealt with cerebral palsy her entire life. She compares it to having a cramp all over her body all the time. "I have chronic pain due to tightness in my back and hamstrings, so that gets a little difficult," Elmore said. Once Elmore took the stage to accept her crown, she became an advocate, using the opportunity to highlight the value of those similar to her, all while maintaining a level of positivity even when days get tough. "I have CP and it’s not going to change, and I just have to use this circumstance, no matter how negative or how hard it is, as a springboard to help other people."
