This Country Just Won the Pasta World Championship

The eighth annual Barilla Pasta World Championships just crowned a winner—and no, they're not Italian. Japanese chef Keita Yuge defeated thirteen other international chefs in the ultimate pasta battle royale. Yuge created an elegant gorgonzola penne that wowed the judges. The theme for the Paris-based competition was "The Art of Pasta." American chef Carolina Diaz, the first female winner, triumphed last year with her spaghetti al pomodoro. Japan has officially cemented its reputation as a destination for world-class Italian cuisine
