Wine, Cider, and Spirits Can Be Sold in New Bottle and Can Sizes This Year
When cracking open that bubbly on New Year's Eve, you probably popped the cork on a typical 750 ml bottle. But why is 750 ml so typical? It turns out that spirits manufacturers don't have unlimited options on bottle size. However, in 2021 you can look for a little more variety in your wine and spirits bottle volume.Regulators approved three more wine package sizes and four more spirits package sizes effective immediately.Wine and cider will now come in 200 ml, 250 ml, and 355 ml packages. As for spirits, the new package sizes are 700 ml, 720 ml, 900 ml and 1.8 liters.Surprisingly, some regulators proposed dropping size regulations altogether, but they decided not to go that far right now
