Jennifer Garner has always been in insanely good shape, but in the last year or so we can’t stop staring at one area of her body in particular-her ridiculously toned arms.

Last night, the recently divorced star dominated the red carpet of the 6th annual Save the Children Illumination Gala at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City, with her gorgeous guns. The Peppermint actress wore a show-stopping sleeveless maroon gown. In case you're curious how the 46-year-old got those incredibly sculpted arms, we have all the details about her workout.

Over 40? It's never too late to get in incredible shape. Prevention's Fit After 40 will show you how-in 15 minutes a day!

Garner works out regularly with celebrity personal trainer Simone De La Rue, creator of the Body By Simone method. Back in September, the mother-of-three posted an Instagram video of the two working out together, and it is seriously intense to say the least. The good news is if you want to try her workout, all you need is some resistance bands, free weights, and a Bosu ball.

In the short video, Garner executes several seemingly simple but effective moves. To tone her arms, she does a series of exercises using the resistance bands, like hammer curls, front and lateral raises and shoulder presses. While she makes them look really easy, you can bet her arms were majorly sore post-workout. She also uses her free-weights, a Bosu ball, and gliders to perform ab exercises and compound movements.

Earlier this year, De La Rue told Women's Health that in order to get her celebrity client into “action figure” form for her role in Peppermint, they targeted her arms, working out together six days a week for one to two hours a day. "We worked on lifting heavier weights, usually around 15 pounds," she said. "We also did a lot of bodyweight work, and supplemented with my custom resistance bands."

Some of these moves included triceps extensions with weights and the resistance band, along with triceps dips. Garner also did overhead presses using resistance bands to work her biceps, deltoids and chest. De La Rue also demonstrates the move in the Instagram post below.
