Check your medicine cabinet if you buy your nasal spray at CVS.

The company that makes the pharmacy's store-branded CVS Health 12 Hour Sinus Relief Nasal Mist is voluntarily recalling the product because it may be contaminated with the bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration announced this week.

People who use a nasal spray with the pathogen could potentially develop an infection that can be life threatening for those with cystic fibrosis or patients with compromised immune systems, the agency warned. Product Quest, the spray manufacturer, hasn't received any reports of illness so far.

More than 16,000 units of the affected decongestant were shipped to stores around the country.
