House Passes Voting Rights, Ethics And Election Reform Bill
On Wednesday, the House passed H.R. 1 For the People Act, a sweeping election-centered bill that would make Election Day a federal holiday, denote a code of ethics and limit campaign financing. The bill first made an appearance in 2019 when first passed by the House but never made it through the Senate. The bill is unlikely to gain support from 10 Republican senators, so its prospect of passing in the Senate are grim.
