Biden backtracks after saying monkeypox is high concern
An unprecedented global spread of monkeypox has the CDC on alert. Over the weekend, President Biden said everyone should be concerned about the virus, but during his trip to Asia, he said it was not “a kind of concern consistent with Covid-19.” Though monkeypox is rare, it is potentially a severe viral illness, and the World Health Organization has identified 200 confirmed or suspected cases in 12 Western countries.
