Recovery of suspected spy balloon continues off U.S. east coast
China has responded to U.S. officials sending an F-22 fighter jet to shoot down a balloon suspected of being a Chinese surveillance balloon off the coast of South Carolina. The Chinese government claims they lost control of what they're calling an "unmanned civilian balloon" and that the White House is overreacting. Meanwhile, administration officials have pointed to other similar balloons originating from China that have shown up in other parts of the world.
