Museum in Taft preserves California oil history for 50 years
The West Kern Oil Museum in Taft, CA is getting ready to celebrate its 50th birthday in March. Started as a storefront by university professors, the museum has grown to preserve maybe one of the less glamorous, but definitely one of the most important pieces of California history.
