Paralyzed in a motorcycle accident, he's competing in races's Watch featured adaptive athlete Jay Ross and the Gaylord Sports Association team conquer the 2019 Gaylord Gauntlet! The Gaylord Gauntlet 5K & Obstacle Run is held annually on the campus of Gaylord Specialty Healthcare in Wallingford, Connecticut. We host over 1,000 runners who conquer over 23 obstacles along the course. Some people run the course for time, others jog or walk through it. This year we had about two dozen adaptive athletes participate including our featured adaptive athlete Jay Ross, who had a spinal cord injury as a result of a motorcycle accident. Jay did the course with the support of a team from the Gaylord Sports Association. Proceeds from the Gauntlet support the Gaylord Sports Association, which gives individuals with a physical or visual disability the opportunity to participate in all kinds of adaptive sports such as wheelchair rugby, rock climbing, archery and much more! The Gauntlet offers a festival area with food and a mini-obstacle course for children. It's a great place to hang out and watch the event unfold. The 2020 Gaylord Gauntlet will be on Saturday, June 27, 2020. See you there!
