But Clare Verrall, 35, says she now feels better than ever after shedding an impressive 110 lbs. in 12 months.

In a lengthy Instagram post on Friday, the former Married at First Sight star reflected on how far she's come in her weight loss journey.

What a difference a year makes ’aye! This time last year I didn’t even want to go outside my house. A year on, I’m walking the runway for @aron_katona. This is the first time I have ever done ANYTHING like this. I was so intimidated as I didn’t feel like I had any right to be walking the runway in a real fashion show with these stunning proper, professional models. HOWEVER, I DID IT AND ACTUALLY HAD A TOTAL BLAST!! Is there a better feeling than facing something that scares you head on? I was crap at posing & couldn’t do the straight face, no smiling ‘smize’ thing that Tara Banks always talked about on next top model, but I didn’t fall over! I’m going to be honest, I am loving myself sick in this photo and usually I HATE ALL photos of myself #MeNarcissisticNeeever🤔 #Runway @midsummafestival @club23melbourne @cityofmelbourne #PretendModelForADay #Fashion #Couture #Handmade #AronKatona

Just one year ago, Clare was too ashamed to leave her house due to her excessive weight gain - but all that's changed now.

'What a difference a year makes. This time last year I didn't even want to go outside my house,' she wrote alongside a recent modelling photo.

The modelling photo Clare shared to Instagram was taken during the Aron Katona runway show in Melbourne last week.

The former reality star, who was once a size 12, gained 99 lbs. after appearing on MAFS in 2016 due to stress from the show. She now weighs a healthy 154 lbs..

'I had to let [the experience] go,' she told New Idea last year, adding that she used to order three pizzas a day at her heaviest.

She added: 'I was still holding on to resentment that Jono [Pitman, her 'husband' on MAFS] and I were both set up to fail and I finally realized it was just a waste of time.'

After deciding to change her life, Clare swapped her fast food binges for a healthy diet and began exercising regularly, which helped her lose 110 lbs. in a year.

'Exercising... being able to walk again – and walk up to 6 miles again, like I used to – and eating better because I can stand up for a minute, rather than just ordering takeaway, it's been a real year of change,' she said.
