Real Housewives of Melbourne star Lydia Schiavello showed off her slim new body this week after dropping several dress sizes thanks to a strict new diet and exercise plan She's been 'fat shamed' more than once by her Real Housewives of Melbourne rival Janet Roach.

But now Lydia Schiavello is having the last laugh, with the 50-year-old reality star revealing her slimmed-down revenge body on Instagram this week.

The mother-of-three, who was previously a size 12, achieved her incredible new look thanks to a strict diet and fitness regimen.

The stunning socialite revealed on Instagram that she's axed sugar, alcohol, and processed foods from her diet, opting for clean eating instead.

She also walks for 40-50 minutes four times a week and does strength training with weights at the gym three times per week.

On top of that, the bubbly brunette worked with a personal trainer to help achieve her newly-fit physique.

'Thanking @ryan_lonewolf_fit for giving me a great opportunity to transform my head space, body and soul,' she wrote on Instagram in December.

'Your inspiring strength AND creating a fitness routine that I wouldn’t get bored with empowered me daily. Attitude within and a purpose in life means so much.'

The reality star's healthy new lifestyle comes after she was repeatedly 'fat shamed' by co-star Janet Roach on the Real Housewives of Melbourne.

On season three of the show, Janet branded her a 'dumb fat b***h,' and on season four, the slender blonde suggested that Lydia get a spray tan to 'slim her arms and legs down to the eye.'

Lydia later signed a contract with a plus-size modelling agency in the hopes of becoming a brand ambassador in the beauty and fashion space.

Speaking about her size to the Herald Sun last year, the Melbourne mum said: 'I don’t think I am large, I think I am normal actually.'

'And I am the happiest I have ever been and I think being fat-shamed, it is a sore point, but more for people around me that look at me and love what they see.'

Lydia is married to architect Andrew Norbury, and is mum to two boys, one girl and three step-children.
