Child Victims Act, a new hope for abuse survivors, goes into effect in New York

The Child Victims Act, a landmark bill that allows child sex abuse victims to file civil suits against the people who they say harmed them and the institutions that employed them no matter when the alleged acts happened, goes into effect in New York on Wednesday. This could mean for new lawsuits against the Catholic Church, the Boy Scouts of America and Jeffrey Epstein’s estate. NBC’s Anne Thompson reports for TODAY.
