Away’s New Luggage Collection Is Made for Outdoor Adventures

Condé Nast Traveler logo Condé Nast Traveler 6/28/2022 Meaghan Kenny

One of Traveler's most beloved luggage brands, Away, launched its first-ever outdoor-focused collection today. The new line is called F.A.R—For All Routes—and it marks the brand's foray into more technical gear, with a range of versatile, thoughtfully designed outdoor bags and accessories.

Away's For All Routes collection features lightweight luggage and travel accessories including duffels, backpacks, convertible backpacks, messenger bags, totes, and organizational pouches, all made from high-strength, water- and abrasion-resistant polyester. Whether you're hiking, camping, or taking a cross-country road trip this summer, these durable, functional outdoor bags are what you want with you. They are made of recycled materials, and feature vibrant new colors like celery, vivid blue, and red orange that feel particularly fitting for summer trips.

F.A.R Duffle 40L

$150.00, Away

The convertible backpack and duffel are ideal for more adventurous travelers. The backpack holds a carry-on suitcase worth of items thanks to its dual interior and exterior compression systems; pack for up to five-day trips with it. The removable padded backpack straps can be adjusted to a shoulder strap to convert the bag into a duffel; when in backpack mode, there's a chest strap to help better distribute the pack's weight. The duffel bag comes in three different sizes—40L, 55L, and 70L—with the smallest best for overnight camping and the largest for week-long excursions or extended road trips. It can be carried by its top handles or a long crossbody strap.

F.A.R Messenger 16L

$80.00, Away

The line's 45L Tote is one of the biggest tote bags I've ever seen—it fits a day’s worth of travel must-haves easily, making it an ideal option for beach trips or a day at the park, ideally when you’re driving your own car (because it’s so big, it’s easy to weigh it down). The main compartment is large enough to pack a change of clothes, shoes, and a beach towel, while the interior pockets keep your ID, phone, and sunscreen easily accessible. The Messenger, which is a bit bigger than the average crossbody purse, meets TSA requirements to be carried as a personal item when you fly. The Messenger’s sleek style makes it work just as well for museum hopping or dinner plans as it does a bike ride. Both bags feature a trolley sleeve so you can easily secure them to your suitcase, too.

F.A.R Pouch

$30.00, Away

While the larger travel bags may get the most attention, don't skip out on the accessories. The Organization Cube is great for storing skincare essentials, tech accessories, or shoes, and it has a top handle for easy hanging on the back of a closet or door. I will definitely be throwing one of the water-resistant pouches in all of my summer bags to store snacks or toiletries on the go.

Travelers can shop the For All Routes collection now exclusively on awaytravel.com and in Away's retail locations in the U.S., U.K., and Canada.
