Fighting Over Money? ‘It’s Not Any One Thing That Brings You Down,’ Dr. Phil Advises Newlyweds
In season one, Dr. Phil examined the lives and finances of several couples to show how day-to-day decisions can lead to living beyond our means - emotionally, physically and financially. Married just a month when they appeared on the program, Newlyweds Aaron and Julie said they fought about money and what to spend it on. Aaron said they should pay off Julie’s debt, while Julie insisted that getting her hair and nails done was a priority. “It’s not any one thing that brings you down,” Dr. Phil advised the couple. “And yes, I know that getting your nails done won’t make you bankrupt, but if you add it to everything else that comes from that philosophy – you’re in the ditch in a short period of time.” “’Dr. Phil’: Living Beyond Your Means” airs Friday.
