Almost every fan of the British royal family can recall seeing Kate Middleton walk up the steps of Westminster Abbey in her gorgeous lace Alexander McQueen gown. But as one Harper’s BAZAAR writer showed us, not everyone remembers the other gown she wore that day.

After officially taking her title as Duchess of Cambridge, the royal fashion icon donned another white gown designed by the Alexander McQueen creative director, Sarah Burton. And if you’re a bride preparing for her fall nuptials, Princess Kate’s second look might be the ultimate inspiration.

Here’s how we would get the look:

When it comes to the gown, it’s safe to say sweetheart and strapless is the way to go. The Ritz Gown ($950; bhldn.com) from BHLDN has a similar cut and fit to the duchess’s dress, but it doesn’t come with the custom-made designer price tag.

And if you’re particularly obsessed with the belt, the same site also offers the Gina Gown ($1,050; bhldn.com) and Annabelle Dress ($260; bhldn.com). Depending on your price point, you can splurge or save while copying Kate.

To top off the ensemble, you need the angora bolero. Thanks to Canada-based Etsy owner Fred Erbasar, you can order a replica of Princess Kate’s sweater. They’re all handmade and available in white, off-white, ivory and pink.
