Alphabet ($GOOGL@US) rose 3.6 percent in premarket after CEO Sundar Pichai announced that the company will lay off 12,000 employees. Eli Lilly ($LLY@US) dropped 1 percent in premarket after the U.S. Food and Drug Administration rejected the drugmaker’s experimental Alzheimer’s disease treatment. Salesforce ($CRM@US) dropped 1 percent premarket after Cowen downgraded it to perform.
