Online Sales Hit New Record
Holiday shoppers spent a record $9.12 billion online shopping on Black Friday. The record-breaking sales followed a robust day of Thanksgiving-day shopping, in which consumers spent $5.29 billion online. Buy Now Pay Later payments increased 78 percent compared with the previous week as consumers continue to grapple with inflation. Some of the most popular items included gaming consoles, drones, and toys such as Fortnite, Roblox, Bluey, Funko Pop!, and Disney Encanto.
