It is a primarily mall-based, specialty retailer of casua...morel apparel and accessories, principally targeting 14 to 17 year-old young women and men through its Aéropostale stores and 4 to 12 year-old kids through its P.S. from Aéropostale stores. The Company provides customers with a focused selection of high quality fashion and fashion basics at compelling values in an innovative and exciting store environment. The Company maintains control over its proprietary brands by designing, sourcing, marketing and selling all of its own merchandise, other than in licensed stores. The Company operates two reportable segments retail stores ...moreand e-commerce; and international licensing. The retail stores and e-commerce segment includes Aeropostale U.S., Aeropostale Canada, P.S. from Aeropostale and GoJane. As of February 1, 2014, the Company operated 949 Aéropostale stores, consisting of 871 stores in all 50 states and Puerto Rico, 78 stores in Canada, as well as 151 P.S. from Aéropostale stores in 31 states and Puerto Rico. The Company competes with a wide variety of retailers including other specialty stores, department stores, online retailers, mail order retailers and mass merchandisers.
