The Company design and market products for both light and commercial vehicle applicat...moreions. The Company sells its products under the Delco Remy, Remy, World Wide Automotive and USA Industries brand names, as well as customers' private label brand names. The Company’s products include starter motors, alternators, multi-line products and hybrid electric motors. Starters and alternators are used in gasoline, diesel, natural gas and alternative fuel engines for light vehicle, commercial vehicle, industrial, construction and agricultural applications. The Company design, develop and manufacture hybrid electric motors that are used in both light and commercial ...morevehicles including construction, public transit and agricultural applications. The Company sells new and remanufactured multi-line products, which consists of steering gears, brake calipers, and constant velocity axles for light and commercial vehicle applications in Europe and North America. The Company also sells new starters, alternators and hybrid electric motors to U.S. and non-U.S. original equipment manufacturers for factory installation on new vehicles. Further, the Company sells remanufactured and new starters, alternators and multi-line products to aftermarket customers, retailers in North America, warehouse distributors in North America, South America and Europe and other equipment manufacturers for the original equipment service. The Company’s manufacturing and remanufacturing facilities are located in eight countries, including Brazil, Canada, China, Hungary, Mexico, South Korea and Tunisia. The Company has four manufacturing facilities in the United States which support a portion of hybrid electric motor assembly, locomotive remanufacturing operations, and rotating electrics and multi-line product remanufacturing. The Company has eight manufacturing facilities making new products for OE/OES customers, including two in Mexico, two in China, and one in each of Brazil, South Korea, Hungary and Anderson, Indiana. The Company produces remanufactured starters and alternators for sale in North America in two facilities in the United States and two facilities in Mexico. For Europe, remanufactured starters and alternators are made in factories in Tunisia and Hungary. The Company’s distribution, engineering and administration facilities for these products are in Edmond, Oklahoma for North America and in Brussels for Europe. In addition, the Company has four distribution centers in the United States and one in Canada and remanufacturing of locomotive power assemblies in Peru, Indiana and Winnipeg, Canada. On January 13, 2014, the Company acquired USA Industries, a North America distributor of remanufactured and new alternators, starters, constant velocity axles and disc brake calipers for light-duty aftermarket. The Company sells products through an extensive distribution and logistics network. The Company employs direct sales force that develops and maintains sales relationships directly with other equipment manufacturers, other equipment dealer networks, commercial vehicle fleets, North American retailers and warehouse distributors. In addition, the Company utilizes sales representatives in support of direct sales force. The Company competes with companies that supply vehicle manufacturers. In the light vehicle market, the competitors include BBB Industries, Bosch, Denso, Hitachi, Mitsubishi, Motorcar Parts of America and Valeo. In the commercial vehicle market the competitors include Bosch, Denso, Mitsubishi and Prestolite. The Company has approximately 400 issued and pending patents in the United States and foreign countries. The Company owns Remy, World Wide Automotive trademarks. Upon the Company’s request, GM Company will register the Delco Remy trademark in any jurisdiction where it is not currently registered.lessless
