The Company serves their customers through four brands, Thermo Scientific, Life Technologies, Fisher Scientific and Unity Lab Services. The Company markets and sells its products and services through a direct sales force, customer-service professionals, electronic commerce, third-party distributors and various catalogs. It encounters aggressive and able competition in virtually all of the markets it serves. It is subject to various laws and governmental regulations concerning environmental matters and employee safety and health in the United States and other countries.
