                  SBA Communications Corp was incorporated in the State Florida in March 1997. The Company is an independent owner and operator of wireless communications tower structures, rooftops and other structures that support antennas used for w...moreireless communications. The Company mainly operates in United States and its territories. It also own and operate towers in Canada, Central America, and South America. The Company’s principal business line is site leasing business, it lease antenna space to wireless service providers on towers that it owns or operates and manages rooftops and tower sites for property owners under various contractual arrangements. As of December 31, 2013, Company owned 20,079 towers; it also managed or leased approximately 4,800 actual or potential towers. The Company’s wireless service p...morerovider tenants, including are AT&T, Sprint, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, Oi, Digicel, Claro and Telefonica. At December 31, 2013, Company owned 5,196 towers in Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Panama. The other business line of the Company is site development business, through which it assist wireless service providers in developing and maintaining their own wireless service networks. Its services includes; network pre-design, site audits, identification of potential locations for towers and antennas, support in buying or leasing of the location, assistance in obtaining zoning approvals and permits, tower structure construction, antenna installation, and radio equipment installation, commissioning and maintenance. The Company provides its site development services on a local basis, through regional offices, territory offices and project offices. The Company faces competition from; the national independent tower companies including American Tower Corporation and Crown Castle International, a large number of regional independent tower owners, wireless service providers that own and operate their own towers and lease, or may in the future decide to lease, antenna space to other providers, and alternative facilities such as rooftops, outdoor and indoor distributed antenna system (“DAS”) networks, billboards, and electric transmission towers in its Site Leasing business. In its Site Development business its competitors includes site development consultants, zoning consultants, real estate firms, right-of-way consulting firms, construction companies, tower owners/managers, radio frequency engineering consultants, telecommunications equipment vendors, which provide end-to-end site development services through multiple subcontractors, and wireless service providers’ internal staff. The Company is subject to federal, state and local regulation of its business, both in the U.S. and internationally. In the U.S., both the Federal Aviation Administration (“FAA”) and the FCC regulate the construction, modification and maintenance of antenna towers and structures that support wireless communications and radio and television antennas.lessless
