Dairy Queen owner punished for racial slur

According to authorities, Dairy Queen has closed a store in Zion, Illinois and terminated its relationship with the franchise owner after he used racial slurs in a recent confrontation with a customer. Police say that the owner, Jim Crichton, admitted to an officer that he said he was “fed up with black people” and used discriminatory language toward 21-year-old Deianeira Ford and her children when she asked for a refund over a mixed-up food order. The incident soon prompted protesters to gather outside the Dairy Queen this past weekend on Saturday and Ford also told local media that she is considering legal action.
