Party on, Wayne!

Mike Myers — in a past life, the headbanging kid from Aurora, Illinois — is in negotiations to join Bohemian Rhapsody, next year’s Queen biopic, directed by Bryan Singer (X-Men: Apocalypse) and starring Rami Malek (Mr. Robot).

Myers’ association with the rock group and the title song goes all the way back to 1992, when Wayne’s World, the SNL movie that he co-wrote, famously opened with Wayne Campbell and Garth Algar (Dana Garvey) rocking out to “Bohemian Rhapsody” in their car.

No details are yet available on who he might play in the film. News of the negotiations was first reported by Deadline.

Bohemian Rhapsody is just starting production and final touches are being put on the cast. Myers would join Malek, Gwilym Lee, Ben Hardy, and Joseph Mazzello as the band, and Sing Street‘s Lucy Boynton as Mary Austin, Mercury’s partner.

Last week, EW debuted the exclusive first look at Malek in costume as Mercury.

“When you’re able to open your eyes and see a different person staring back at you in the mirror,” Malek said about getting into hair and makeup for the first time, “it’s a very affirming moment.”

Bohemian Rhapsody opens in theaters on Christmas Day 2018.
