Drake is firing back after his father accused him of exaggerating their strained relationship for money.

In an interview with Nick Canon on Power 106 FM, the 32-year-old's father, Dennis Graham, claimed his famous son hasn't been honest about their relationship in his music. Drake has past rapped about everything from his parents' divorce to his father's alleged absence from his life.

According to Graham, he "had a conversation with Drake" about the way his son portrays him in his music.

"I have always been with Drake," Graham said in an interview published Oct. 1. "I talked to him if not every day, every other day. We really got into a deep conversation about that."

"I said, 'Drake, why are you saying all of this different stuff about me, man? This is not cool,' " Graham added. "And he goes, 'Dad, it sells records.' "

Drake expressed pain at his father's words on his Instagram story Tuesday.

"Woke up today so hurt, man," the musician wrote. "My father will say anything to anyone that's willing to listen to him."

"It's sad when family gets like this but what can we really do that's the people we are stuck with," he continued. "every bar I ever spit was the truth and the truth is hard for some people to accept."

USA TODAY has reached out to Drake's reps for further comment.
